This exhibition brought together, Kathleen Packwood and Sue Purcell from the group 1 + 1 =, and guest artist Terri Sweeney. The work explored the richness of imagery inspired by ‘Nature’, through a wide range of media - Paintings, Prints, Textiles, Mosaics, Glass and Sculpture.
A fusion of colour, form, and imagination, which highlights the artists' originality and diversity.
Kathleen Packwood - “‘Nature’ is my visual vocabulary. I work in an intuitive way, with a questioning concern for ideas, texture, shape and colour. My aim is to reflect on nature and natural phenomena and create a dialogue between direct experience, inner feeling and memory.”
Sue Purcell - “Exploring nature in its various guises, I aim to create a range of colourful, textured works, capturing reflections through the characteristics of glass. The results are a mixture of abstract and representational works, showing micro to macro points of view.”
Terri Sweeney - “I work as a freelance and workshop artist, specialising in mosaic and paper maché. My inspiration comes from inner subconscious sources and also from the stunning environment that surrounds me – all of this reflected back through the presence of light upon my work.”
